Creative Wellbeing Cafe

Drop in once a month to Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery for creative activities and a cup of tea. Bring your own creative projects or join in with ours. This group is open to all adults who may benefit from a calm and creative space.

The group will meet on Tuesday 7th July, and then sessions will move to the first Wednesday of each month between 3 - 4pm, meeting at the front desk. Free teas and coffees provided.

 

2026/2027 programme:

Tuesday 7th JULYFrom masks to emojis- emotion through art 

Exploration of how people have expressed emotion on paper throughout history. From masks to emojis (World Emoji Day- July 17th). Art activity on expressing emotions through colour and shape. 

Wednesday 5th AUGUST- Wildlife inspired Art 

Study biological illustrations of bats and look at the museum’s collection of insects. 

Wednesday 2nd SEPTEMBERInternational Literacy Day

Book cover design or redesign for a book title, real or imagined. Visual storytelling through art eg; comic strip or similar. 

Wednesday 7th OCTOBER World Mental Health Day

Create a ‘Positive Pebble’ to leave in public. 

Wednesday 4th NOVEMBERWeaving Myth and Memory exhibition 

Sew or stick a felt tile linked to the themes of the exhibition. 

Wednesday 2nd DECEMBERChristmas Printing 

Create Christmas prints on card using tinfoil, paint and cotton buds. 

Wednesday 13th JANUARY- World Snow Day (note it is not Wednesday 6th January)

Snowflake symmetry and winter landscape paintings.

Wednesday 3rd FEBRUARYRandom Acts of Kindness Day 

Create kindness cards or small art gifts to leave in public spaces.
